2001 L-Series 3.0L Sedan
Default 2001 L300 V6 with P0421, P0402, P0303 codes

My L300 is throwing P0421, P0402 and P0303 codes. The SES light has been on for a few days and the car is running like a dog. I have the info on what each of the codes mean, but could use assistance if anyone has any suggestions as to what may help.

I'm going to remove and clean the EGR and see if it clears any of the other codes. While I'm at it I my end up changing the plugs. Does anyone have any info on chaning the coil, plug cassettes as far as an alternate sources other than a dealer?

Thanks in advance
Dave

Welcome to the forums! Mileage? Tried used parts online with a money back guarantee? The more background info the less guessing involved. Plugs may be due for replacement but without more info...................

Default Re: Mileage is 94K

The mileage is 94K. I've kept up on oil changes every 3-4K all since new with Mobil 1. Air cleaners every year. Other than this problem it's been a good car. I've only had to replace a CPS last year.

Thanks again
Dave

I don't envy you removing parts of the intake manifold to get to the plugs and ignition modules. At 94k miles its time as you know for plug replacement. When you remove them inspect the center insulator for general color as this indicates the heat range for each cylinder, especially the cylinder misfire as it should indicate a different color. The plugs may also indicate the extent of wear on both electrodes for the miles put on them. This may help you determine if an ignition module replacement is necessary from DIY point of view short of visiting the dealer for a better in-depth look with their GM scanner and special software to isolate possible ignition module faults.
