Default SL1 Transmission P0732, P0733 & P0734 Codes

I recently replaced the automatic transmission in a friend's '97 SL1 (130k miles). A tranny shop wanted $1600 to rebuild his, so he opted to put a used one in. The used tranny came from an '01 SL1 and supposedly had 14k miles on it. On initial test drive after installing the used tranny, the car slams in what appears to be all gears. Eventually the SES light comes on. The codes set are P0732, P0733 and P0734, which are 2nd, 3rd and 4th Incorrect Gear Ratio codes. Anyone have any ideas? I'm trying to figure out whether I got a bad used tranny, or whether I missed something during installation. It seems a little odd to me that I'm having trouble with all 3 gears, like it is more of an electrical issue. Autozone read the codes and did not find any others besides these. Any help would be appreciated.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Its because the 01 transmission is incompatable with the 96 PCM. The correct year range for that job is 95-97 for compatability. See if you can return the transmission for the correct one.

The part #'s are the same for transaxle from 95- 02 and the gear ratios are also the same you might want to check to see if you blew your LP fuse in your under hood fuse box .

The only other way that i can think of that you might have a gear ratio problem was if the salvage yard gave you the wrong trans, one for a double and not a single which is what you need. The trans are called MP6 & MP7, MP6 is for a single.
