![]() catch can is on and drive shaft is out. Lets see what kind of fuel mileage we can wrap up. We've been getting 32 mpg so far on 89 octane. 170k+ and still getting it.

32mpg? Downhill with a tailwind? How in the world are you pulling that off ![]() I've managed 27-28mpg on a reasonably longer trip but city/highway driving is easily putting my 3.0 closer to the lower 20's than the low 30's, lol. I'm running an AWD with the rear drive still installed - is removal of that shaft THAT big of a mpg difference? I'd love to hear how you're pulling this crazy mpg off.

![]() We got high 20s too when it was stock. I use full synthetic 10w-30. Fresh timing belt, e3 spark plugs, stage 3 custom exhaust system, Cold air intake below headlight with ram air tube, aftermarket breather/oil catch can, and oh yeah, no rear drive shaft. I have been all through the motor, and replaced all the gaskets from the heads up. Also, I run some seafome through the small vacuum port on the left side of the throttle body that feeds vacuum to the breather box on the head. The seafome cleans the black crud out of the intake and combustion chambers. Funny thing though, when i pulled the drive shaft, I could turn the yoke on the rear diff by hand-with both tires on the ground. yikes. Don't know if it should behave this way or not. i will post pics soon. Keep that fuel filter changed!

![]() i'm trying to upload some pics. It keeps saying "vBulletin Message
Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing. If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error." Then when I do that, I get this - "vBulletin Message Invalid Post specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator." Right. Maybe I can upload to photo bucket or make a video and put it on you tube.

![]() One of the things that I think helped my mileage, besides the intake and the exhaust, was changing the pto and rdm fluid over to royal purple synchromax.

![]() I think you might have just helped me solve what is wrong with my vue, can you email me the pics? nick.steph.bachert@gmail.com. Does the oil separator need to be replaced, or will a good cleaning work?

![]() that pipe to the thermostat is good aluminum and so is the bracket. We just replaced our thermostat and found that the guy before us had broken the bracket as well and they zip tied it. we took it all out and welded the braket back to the tube no problem.

![]() Newbie here,
I know that this is an old thread, but I have a question that may be related to this. When checking my oil every 1000 miles, I have a light tan color of oil on the fill cap. I assume that it is the moisture in the crank case mixing with the oil vapors. I have no water in the motor oil and no leaks on the block. Why is this happening? Thanks, Mike

![]() My separator unit has a second vacuum nipple. That flat area on the vent's body, directly to the left of where the bolt is drawn in this picture. That area's has a standard sized vacuum hose nipple and a vacuum line is attached to it. I've tried tracing that line back but it's difficult to see where it ends up.
Anyone know what this second vacuum line is for? I thought it might be for an actively controlled (open/close) crankcase ventilation system.
