2004 VUE 3.5L
Default 2004 3.5L Vue Valve Clearance

I just got done doing a 100,000 mile service and my valves are noisy. I spec'ed them to what I read in the haynes manual. .20 to .22 for the intake and .28 to .32 for the exhuast(mm). Are those specs correct. I was wondering why I had to loosen every valve in order to get these clearances. Now it sounds like I have a diesel. WTF

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

I don't know what the factory specs are but those numbers seem mighty loose compared to other motors I've set/checked valves on.

.32 is 1/3 of an inch......that can't be right.

I've pasted extract from service manual - supposed to start with cold engine (less than 100 deg F) - FSM numbers agree from MM stand-point.

Select the proper thickness feeler gage.

Specification:

Intake valve adjustment: 0.2-0.24 mm (0.008-0.009 in)
Exhaust valve adjustment: 0.28-0.32 mm (0.011-0.013 in)

The complete extract is too large to post - I can email if you PM address.
