Hello New here with P0431 code

Hello again I'm new here and great forums I read a lot of them even on my
P0431 code. Just curious does anyone know what exactly to look for? I have a 2002 Satarn Vue All wheel drive with 3.0 L Automatic and had codes with
P0700 and fixed that with CRS sensor but I keep having P0431 and when it happens is after I'm driving awhile and stop and shut it off then start it up and go again. Having trouble determining weather it's an 02 sensor or a Cat on bank 2. And what is bank 2 witch side of the engine is that? There are 4
O2 sensors 2 on each side one right next to the manifold and one infront of the cats. Can anyone help.

Hello Rebel,

I had 2003 with V6 and had the same codes. Does not appear to affect performance of the vehicle, just super annoying. It is the Cat and .... dang that is an expensive piece of exhaust equipment. I was gonna bite the bullet and buy used exhaust from wrecker supply but the vehicle was totalled when a chick speeder removed the front of the vehicle in her Infiniti. BTW I was only slightly injured by the driver side door nailing my left hip. Vue is a very safe vehicle.....

If you plan to keep the vehicle you will need to get a new cat and they are available. Saturn might have some available still.
