Default Speed governor

Does anyone know how to disable the speed governor without throwing the car into broke mode??

You would have to get an aftermarket chip. I think HP Tuners has one for the 3.6L.

Factory tires are not spec'd for any thing faster than 115. The car is probably good for 140 so be careful!

Speed limited to 115mph. The computer will not let the car go faster than that...... hence it is "governed".

Actually 108 to match the "S" Rated tires. Fuel cutoff it not abrupt and the motor had alot more wind to it. HAve an HP programmer pulled the Rev Limiter, but haven't been to the track for a while so haven't done any tuning yet.

The last time I checked, the maximum speed limit in the US is 80 MPH in West Texas, and 100 KMH in Canada.

115 MPH seems a bit excessive and dangerous - why do you need to go faster?

My VUE Red Line is speed limited at 120mph.

What Saturn had the highest top speed? ION RL?

Some people have a need for speed. Others like the ability and never go there.

Don't worry, the new Saturn is slapping on lower top speed limits. The new 2008 VUE chokes and sputters at 101 mph.
