Saturn LW300 L. front door speaker removal

Anyone know the best way to remove the speaker from the left front door in a Saturn LW300 wagon? Does the whole panel have to come off? I hope someone finds this and has the answer! My best days of tearing cars to pieces are behind me. :-)

You can replace the speaker without taking the whole panel off. Look at the bottom of the door panel. There you find 3-4 phillips head screws. Remove those screws and pop off the door panel clips about half way up the panel only.

I've used a 2" X 4" to wedge the panel away from the door to complete this job.

There is enough room to do this only on the front door panels. For the back doors, the whole panel must be removed.

As a side note, once the speaker is removed, you also have access to the door check if that needs replacement.

I imagine you're staying with a stock replacement. The connector might give you a little bit of a fight,.


I had to "core out" the old blown ones and mount the replacements inside the ring because I was upgrading.

hi sages- may have to do this repair soon. curious as hell- on the diy jobs 5F difficulty scale how many Fs do you rate this difficulty where 1 F would be an oil change and a full 5 F would be r and r an internal clutch slave cylinder on an L100. guessing 2 F. thanks tons bob f

^^ A 2 on the difficulty scale is pretty accurate. It's a little bit fiddly at points but not bad. Just take your time.

I just did this, it wasn't hard at all. Go for it and take pics for us. I should have taken some pics. Stereo sounds way better now!
