Very cool page!

There are one or two mistakes on that swap guide. First thing to pop out at me was the flywheel. They are NOT the same for all s-series. Wolfman has made that perfectly clear in one of his posts. I believe he said they changed in the third generation.

So make sure you double here for the latest info! But definetly a well done guide

Hey that's pretty nice looking. Could still use a number of revisions, but at least I won't have to make my parts guide as in-depth. I will just cover mostly what that one doesn't.

What about valve bodys for automatic transmissions? Are they all the same or is their a difference between the MP6 vs MP7 and any changes for model years?

All the ones listed on ebay say all model years but I want to be sure.

They changed the valve body after 91. If you have a 92 or later, any valve body from 92 or later will work.

Just don't get the VBX... i've heard stories.

I'm pretty sure the pipe is roughly 1 7/8" and I don't know if that's inner or outer. I know I had a hell of a time getting a size convertor for my Dynomax muffler on my 2002 SC1. The other difference would be on pre '97 cars, becuase the wheel base was shorter for the coupes before then. I found that out the hard way when I tried to put the good cat-back stock system from a '92 SL2 onto my '92 SC...I was so pissed when it didn't fit!

Had I not considered the target audience, I might've found this guide incomplete. My 98SL1 has disgusting seats. Aesthetically, they're not bad. The foam is being eaten away, though, with the many road trips that contributed milk, chicken water, hot cocoa, beer, ashes from many kinds of smoked plants, barbecue sauce, cat pee, cat vomit, cat poo, cat litter, soft cat food, and that's just the list of things that I'm not embarassed to share. So whenever a drop of water lands on them, they kick up all this nasty brown stuff. Soooo my question is...

From which Saturns can I pull seats to put in my 98 SL1 with power nothing?

Any S-Series front seats will fit.

Rear seat - for sure any '96-'02 SL, SL1 or SL2 will fit. Earlier ('91-'95) seats *might*. Coupe rear seats have a "console" in the middle, rather than a seating position. Wagon rear seats have a cross-brace that, AFAIK, isn't compatible with the sedan body structure.

Oh, and may I respectfully suggest -- seat covers.

Depending on how often you have a passenger (or how much you hate them), you may be able to swap the bottom foam and fabric from your passenger side (assuming it's are clean) to driver side.

This info originally posted by Low Saturn:
Quote:
The only parts that will swap from drivers side to passenger side and vise versa are:

seat back frame
head rests
seat back foam
seat back fabric
seat bottom foam
seat bottom fabric

Parts that won't swap from drivers side to passenger side are:

seat bottom frame (drivers side is narrower than the passenger side)
seat tracks (they're mirror images of one another, and provisions for the narrower seat bottom frame and height adjustment are different)
seat bottom spring assembly (because of the narrower frame)
recliner assembly (mirror image of the opposite side)
trim (except escutcheon for the headrest, that will swap over)
lumbar support

Automatic transmissions; What year Saturn MP7's will work in a 99 SC2? I've got a 99 SC2 DOHC and it needs a tranny. I found one from a guy that says 95-98 but I'm not sure it will work in my 99.
