Default Help !! 2004 Vue No Communication with scanner

I am trying to connect my Snap on mt2500 scanner to my 2004 Vue. I was told I would not be able to use the "Trouble shooter" because The cartridges I have are thru 2000. So, I am trying to get the generic OBD2 codes but when I connect to the car the scanner says "No Communication" My question is what am I doing wrong ?

Which engine and transmission in your 04 Vue?

I've attached OBDII jack diagrams for 05 Vue - both manual and auto trans.

Your scanner needs +12 on pin 16 for power and the 05 shares a 10 amp fuse with the Aux 1 power receptacle.

Your scanner also needs a ground on pins 4 or 5 and will communicate with BCM using pin 2 (Class 2 Serial Data).

Pins 1, 7 and 12 on diagram are for GM specialized Tech II reader / programmer.

If we believe the diagram.

No problem - I've since learned the diagrams apply to 4 or 6 cylinder.

Keep us advised how it goes.
