^Thanks I can see where MMO in fuel would lube the valve stems. ...Amazing the little 4-cylinder's valves are still sealing after so many km.
Justgetmefixed, maybe try a mechanic's stethoscope
Can you remove the valve cover and let it idle hot? Tape potty pads everywhere the oil could sling
(Me, me, me: When my car was smashed, the engine sat for ~9 months...and then ...I gooped Vaseline into the oil pump and got myself a ticking lifter I can still see the disgusted look on the female store clerk's face when I cheerfully plopped the jar of Vaseline on the counter )
