Hello again. Haven't been on here in a while but this forum has always been super helpful.

My friend has a 2003 L300 wagon. We're having the strangest issue with it.

It all started after a...

Re: 2003 L200 auto tranny reliability?

Good to know, so far from all my research I haven't come across a known history of L series transmission issues.

Re: Whats the final word on the timing chain issues?

After recently doing a timing chain / tensioner on my 2001 L200, mine failed not because of the oiler, but because of the tensioner.

Judging from what i've read on there, i'm not the only one who...

2003 L200 auto tranny reliability?

As title states, I might pick up a 2003 L200, auto trans, 137k miles.

I know that some saturns in the past had valve body issues, but other than that I've never really known a solid history of...

Suspension clunky when backing up mostly..... 01 L200

As title states, pretty clunkety when backing up, especially when I press the brakes to stop. What's the most likely source on these cars?

Sway bar links? Ball joints? Control arm bushings? ...

Re: Changing the serpentine belt on the Ecotec

Don't know if this works on the Vue but on the L series just remove the whole air cleaner assembly for much more access. To make it even better if you're equipped remove the front engine mount. ...

Re: Timing chain question

Yup, just do NOT rotate the engine with it removed. YOu stand a chance of the cams jumping time if you do.

Re: Heated seats and heated mirror failure

Exactly. What's the odds of 4 mirrors all having blown elements? Just my luck. Oh well i'll find some that work someday.

Re: Heated seats and heated mirror failure

Getting good voltage at the wires behind the mirror, directly where they connect to the glass. Took all 4 mirrors and wired them directly to a car battery, not a drop of heat out of any of them. :(...

Re: Timing chain question

I just got done doing mine. Special tools no. DIY job it all depends on how savvy you are under the hood.

I've been doing auto repairs for a long time. IMO this was one of the easiest DOHC...

Re: Heated seats and heated mirror failure

I poped a pair of mirrors off a junkyard 2000 ls1, no markers in the mirror but sure enough they were heated. I took only the glass. Sure enough they don't work either. I put my vom on the old set...

Re: Another person in timing chain hell.

By the way I was amazed by how simple the chain was to replace on the 2.2L engine. I was expecting to get into the cooling system so I drained it. After I was all done with the job it had occured...

Re: Another person in timing chain hell.

I am not the original owner, I just got it at an auction the other day. Was traded in at a dealership and the dealer just wholesaled it off. It cranked over like it had no compression so I figured...

Re: Heated seats and heated mirror failure

Yup both mirrors show the icon in the glass. I plan on dismantling the mirrors tomorrow to see if perhaps the wire is broken off the back of the glass.

As far as my heated seat issue I did get it...

Heated seats and heated mirror failure

Just picked up an 01 LS1 or L200 not sure what it is. The tags on the keys say LS1 but the vin comes up as L200 when putting it on my insurance.

Anyways, I have been going through the car fixing...

Re: Another person in timing chain hell.

My new kit had a note in it saying to use the included oiler as it was an "upgrade"

I visualy put the 2 side by side, they don't look any different to me. We could be talking about .01"...

Re: Another person in timing chain hell.

I just got done doing the timing chain in my newly acquired 00 LS1 tonight.

Lucky for me it wasn't running, had no compression but when I tested the cylinders none of the valves were bent. :)
