Re: UhOh...very cold, ION1, no start.

My 2003 finally developed the problem today for the first time, and mine's an Ion 1, so I don't even have power windows or locks, let alone having keyless entry.

Re: UhOh...very cold, ION1, no start.

I just had this when I left work.
I'm a bit of an old timer here who hasn't participated for a few years.
I got the 1/4 second of a crank and then the flashing passlock signal on the dash followed...

Re: usage of linux in some car computers

I can't be 100% sure, but I'm 99.5% sure that no ECM ever used in a car runs linux. For one thing, they want those things to be difficult to hack, not easy. I believe they code those things up with...

Re: Door ding

given the relative softness of the plastic panels on saturns, and lack of sharp edges, what are the chances of them denting a steel body car? I don't know, never tried it.

Re: '04 Vue 3.5 Honda trans shutter

I doubt that it's serious, I'd tend to agree with the other hypotheses, it's probably just the computer trying to figure out what to do. However, you should atleast mention it to a tech, the early...

Re: Cheapest place online for Wheel & Tire Bundle

Yeah, I'd go for any of the sites twosaturns listed.
As far as the cheapest, you can't really answer that because you have to look at what you like, and find the site that has the cheapest price on...

Re: voiding the warrenty

What kind of problem, and what kind of wheels.
They're legally not suppossed to refuse any kind of warranty work unless they can show that the failure was directly caused by the aftermarket...

Re: conversion from auto to manual

Since he joined back in Feb, I'd assume he's well over the 30-day exchange limit.
As others have said, what you're asking is a long and difficult modification, and as there's really no standard...

Re: questions/opinions about car washing

Those Mr. Clean Autodry setups are really quite nice. They do work exactly as advertised. I have one that I use when time is a factor.

I have a lot of stuff for cleaning my car, I just got a...

Re: The value of a locking gas cap...

It seems to me that all you would need to do is put a screen in the filler tube, that prevents a syphon hose from entering the liquid. Liquids can still pass through mostly unimpeded.

Re: Will the dealership fix TSB problems for free?

Yeah, there are quite a few TSBs that aren't in way indicative of a repair, such as I believe there was one TSB put out for the 2003 Ion that was along the lines of reminding dealerships to tell...

Re: Taxable Horsepower for 2006 Ion2

Maryland assigns registration fees based on Gross Vehicle Weight, which makes more sense than that screwy little formula.
I tried several mutations of that formula to find out what was wrong.

Re: Saturn to Replace Ion with Astra in '07... I need to start saving!

Let's hope that they bother bringing this option over.
I mean, look at that windshield. You have an uninterupted view up front.
There's a retractable sunshade, other than that there's not even a...

When you log in, there's a checkbox that says something along the lines of remember me.
Check that off, you won't time out unless you clear your cookies.

Re: 4 visits to the dealership, and it still squeeks and rattles

How long have you had it? You should exchange it for another one if you're not happy with it.

Re: Gm 3.5l Or Honda 3.5l In The Aura?

you can rest assured that both will be homegrown GM motors.
For one thing, the Honda 3.5L and GM 3.6L are nearly identical in performance, what would be the point of offering both?

Re: Roof paint flaking at 44000 miles?

I do think that that seems early. If it was a defect in the paint application process, you probably wouldn't have helped much. The car's a 2005, so it isn't even a year and a half old.
I believe...

You can still sign up with the company to be a mystery shopper, at most it means you couldn't have dealings with saturn dealerships.

Re: Guess What the Area Engineer made me sign before they would work on my Redline?

About a year or two ago, Mitsubishi was voiding warranties of people who entered their cars in SCCA events....

Re: 2004 ION has 35,7xx miles-anything I should have the dealer check?

Well, if you feel confident in your car, don't really worry about it.
If you don't have confidence in your car, you could sell it now, as reasonably fuel efficient compacts are selling for really...

Re: Help! Wife broke the drivers door!!!!!!!!!

My joke when thinking about the whole model year thing was that I'd rather have an early 80s model with fairly low mileage, that doesn't require too much upkeep, and isn't too much of a money pit,...
