Re: 1995 sc1 pax seat why 2 wires?

The passenger seat has 1 cable to let you move it forward/back with the normal bar and the 2nd cable has 'memory' so you can flip the seatback forward, slide the seat up, get in, then slide it back...

Whatever it is for a 5spd, it's not a MP2 or MP3.

Re: HAI: How hot is to hot?

About 14 years ago now Cheapybob got his '97 SC1 to over 50mpg with a WAI and some aero mods.

Re: HAI: How hot is to hot?

To a certain point the hotter the better; once it gets too hot it'll either ping from pre-ignition or add fuel reducing MPG.

150f appears to be the sweet spot; lower and the gains aren't there,...

Re: Surge tank is problematic

Take a spare radiator cap, shove a tire valve stem in it and use any tire pressure gauge to check pressure. DIY pressure tester for under $5; though I don't have a clue what a 'proper' pressure...

Re: Help With Donor Mount Bracket

I think your cheap options are done with...otherwise you'd have just welded some support braces on/around the 'broken' mounts you already have. May work to have someone else do the same thing but it...

Re: Help With Donor Mount Bracket

There's only 2 versions of the dog bones...1st, 2nd and 1st again.

The transmission side of the mount only changes in the '93-'94 range, though the bigger change is between manual and automatic...

Re: Loud Clanking Noise Left Side Engine

Only until a certain someone chimes in with his arm chair engineering degree and 0 knowledge beyond what the various GM posted interchange guides say.

'96-'98 heads will require a 2nd ECTS port...

Re: Emergency brake cable '02 with rear drums

Drum brake cables should have the barrel shape on both ends while disc brake cables should have the barrel shape on one end and the ball on the other. The calipers require/use a larger spring so it...

Re: Do Rear Windows Vary?

Should be identical '91-'95 4dr (wagons use the same panels/parts from the rear doors forward as the sedans minus the headliner).
Possible '96-'02 will physically fit but...it won't be happy.

Re: Emergency brake cable '02 with rear drums

Easy enough to swap out the cables but given the below options for cables it's not exactly simple...lol

'91-'91 and '93-'96 2dr's have shorter cables for both rear disc and rear drum (2 unique...

Re: Emergency brake cable '02 with rear drums

There's 3-4 tabs around the cable where it comes through the backing plate, have to press them all in to pull the cable out.

According to GM it's the same cable '00-'02 any S-Series; the GM number...

Re: Power Restriction Affect Running?

Power and ground paths need to be matched in size, or if anything a larger/better ground path. ANY wire in the path needs to be able to safely carry the entire load on the path otherwise it's a...

Re: Help With Rear Suspension After Collision

Either take it out inside the cabin and shove/pull through the floor or use a flat tip screwdriver to assist with unlocking at the backing plate. You may have to push the cable IN to get the tension...

Re: Help With Rear Suspension After Collision

Prying against the backing plate to get the...

Re: 1998 SW2 Driver's seat belt buckle

Buckles change based on year, not model. Even then they only make a incompatible change in '99-'00 range, easily fixed by unbolting the buckle on the seats (while out of the car) and putting the...

Re: DOT tire date code of 494X

Could be a manufacturing defect, a non-filled "8" IMO is the most likely thing but that makes the date even more confused and it's odd that all 4 tires have the same defect.

Does it show the same...
